Synopsis:
Set at the height of the great depression,
”The Butcher’s Daughter” follows Sarah, a young farm girl, living in the secluded plains of the Midwest with her aging father Richard. When two Irish gangsters from Chicago arrive unexpectedly on their doorstep demanding protection, Sarah must confront not only her father’s mysterious past, but also the violence that descends upon her home.

FX Description:
Starz Animation Toronto handled numerous invisible effects augmenting this atmospheric live action tale. The most challenging shots involved a murder of crows taking flight. 3d crows were created, hand animated and composited.

Synopsis:
In this chilling Hollywood mystery, a modern day excavation crew finally discovers why Cecil B. DeMille had an ancient Egyptian movie set buried in the sands of the California desert: The legendary filmmaker was secretly trying to imprison an avenging Egyptian god trapped in a smuggled artifact amongst the movie props. Now, intent on preserving Hollywood history, the crew unknowingly releases the terror once more.

Starz Animation Toronto handled the locust attack. 3d locusts were created and animated to swarm in and attack the hapless maid. The most challenging shot involved the locusts crawling over the still flailing bloody figure.
